Aalo Tikki

Aalo Tikki Recipe:


Potaoes 3, large sized, boiled
Peas (I used frozen) 1/2 cup
Onion 1, medium sized, finely chopped
Green chillies 2 nos., finely chopped
Red chilli powder 1 tsp.
Chaat masala 1 tsp.
Dry mango powder 1/2 tsp.
Roasted cumin powder 1 tsp.
Grated ginger 1 tbsp.
Coriander leaves finely chopped
Bread crumbs 2 tbsp.
Cornflour 2 tbsp.
Oil to shallow fry
Salt as per taste


Once potaoes are mashed, mix it with other ingredients, except oil to make a paste of potatoes gently.

Divide the dough into 8 equal slices. Flatten each ball or roundel between the palms of your hands to make round or tikkis patties. Coat each takki crumbs.

Heat oil in a non-stick tawa and place tikkis on it. Shallow fry until golden brown. Tikkis Turn and cook the other side also, until they are golden brown. Remove the tissue paper from the kitchen to allow the excess oil to be soaked.

Serve hot with ketchup or chutney of your choice.
